The Centro Sperimentale di Fotografia – Adams (C.S.F. Adams) and Kromart Gallery launch a call for entry for Italian and international photographers who want to show their works during the collective exhibition Contrast that will take place from the 7th – 18th March 2023 in the show rooms of Budapest – Ph 21 gallery

CONTRAST
Heraclitus believed the world’s secret law to consist in the tight connection between opposites, which fight one another but, at the same time, can’t exist without the other, since one lives only because of the other one.
The term opposition (from the Latin term oppositio and the verb opponere, to oppose) philosophically refers to that condition, where something, due to its characteristics, stands, materially and/or ideally, in strong contrast with another one. Therefore, nothing would exist if its opposite wouldn’t also exist at the same time.
A photographic image is said to be contrasted when there is a clear difference between the light and dark parts, i.e. when its content is concentrated in the lights (clear zones) and in the shadows, having a scarce presence of intermediate tones. Hence contrast means difference, conflict, disagreement, opposition…of sounds, smells, ideas, colours, lights, tones, ages, genders, verbal, physical… (Gabriele Agostini)

Il Centro Sperimentale di Fotografia – Adams (C.S.F. Adams) e Kromart Gallery bandiscono una call for entry per fotografi italiani e internazionali che vogliano mostrare il loro lavoro fotografico in occasione della mostra collettiva CONTRASTO che avrà luogo dal 7 al 18 marzo 2023 presso la sede espositiva di Budapest Ph21 gallery
Contrasto
Eraclito ritiene che la legge segreta del mondo risieda nella stretta connessione dei contrari che in quanto opposti, lottano fra di loro, ma nello stesso tempo, non possono fare a meno l’uno dell’altro dato che vivono solo l’uno in virtù dell’altro.
Il termine opposizione (dal latino oppositio dal verbo opponere, opporre) sta ad indicare in filosofia la condizione per cui qualcosa per le sue caratteristiche si pone, materialmente e/o idealmente, in netto contrasto rispetto ad un’altra. Quindi niente esisterebbe se allo stesso tempo non esistesse anche il suo opposto.
Un’immagine fotografica si dice contrastata quando esista una netta differenza tra le parti chiare e scure, ossia quando il suo contenuto si concentri nelle luci (zone chiare) e nelle ombre con una scarsa presenza di toni intermedi. Ne consegue, quindi, che contrasto è differenza, conflitto, disaccordo, contrapposizione…di suono, di odore, di idea, di colore, di luce, di tinta, di età, di genere, verbale, fisico… (Gabriele Agostini)..
